Democracy, Decorations, and Missing Snacks
Hello Humans,
It’s Zeus.
Apparently, we’re celebrating 250 years of democracy.
I have absolutely no idea what democracy is.
I asked Bailey, but he didn’t know either. He said it probably means everyone gets an equal vote on who gets the last treat. If that’s true, I support democracy.
Mom has hung red, white, and blue decorations out on the deck. There are flags everywhere. There are stars everywhere. There are things flapping in the wind that I barked at for twenty minutes before realizing they were attached to the house.
Dad laughed at me.
I did not appreciate that.
Mom keeps saying we’re celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Personally, I think birthdays should involve cake. So far, I have not seen any cake.
This feels like a serious oversight.
The good news is that humans seem happy.
Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July. If democracy means extra treats for dogs, then I am fully in favor of it.
Your faithful correspondent,
Zeus
